PlayStation Vita memory cards are quite expensive, Sony defends pricing

The pricing structure of the PlayStation Vita memory cards has caused an uproar among fans. Fans argue that the PlayStation Vita memory cards are far too expensive, rumoured to cost $30 for 4GB, $45 for 8GB, $70 for 16GB and $120 for 32GB.

Sony’s Sony Division Two Software Development’s Head, Muneki Shima has replied to the uproar, defending the prices. He states that Sony can ensure that all gamers are guaranteed the same performance since they can set the read/write speeds of the cards as opposed to letting users get their own microSD cards and ruining their gaming experience when they unknowingly pick up a lower speed card just because it was cheaper. PlayStation Vita Adobe Flash negotiations still going on

Sony’s Division two software development head, Muneki Shimad told Japanese publication Impress Watch that negotiations are taking place with Adobe on whether the PlayStation Vita will utilise the now, slowly dying web-standard.

No concrete decision has been made, in fact, I feel that if negotiations are still taking place, then it’s highly unlikely that Flash support will make it in time for the PlayStation Vita’s February 22nd launch. In the same interview, Muneki Shimad told the publication that 1080p playback will not be a feature of the Vita at launch, however, he doesn’t rule out a possible update to allow 1080p playback.

Konami has announced that a sequel to cult hit, Little King’s Story will be released sometime in 2012 for the PlayStation Vita.

“New Little King’s Story takes the form of a roaming role-playing title, with the player recruiting the isolated pockets of subjects into a unified army. The game allows the user to move freely around the scrolling player in the search for recruits and for items that will aid the quest.

The touch-screen of the PlayStationVita handheld entertainment system allows the player to control and arrange recruits and send them into battle or to search areas with simple finger movements, with groups of subjects easily marshaled and moved.”

PlayStation Vita coming to Vodafone in the United Kingdom

The PlayStation Vita (3G) will be coming to Vodafone UK, once the Vita is released next year on February 22nd. Apart from that, Vita users of Vodafone will also receive Wipeout 2048 for free via the PlayStation Store.

No pricing details have been announced, but seeing as the 3G PlayStation Vita SKU is going for £279.99, I expect a similar price for the Vodafone version.
